Electrospective Manchester District Music Archive has teamed up with electrofunkroots to bring a marathon celebration of Manchester's 1980s Electro-Funk and B-Boy scene to Islington Mill on Saturday 30 August 2008 from 4pm to 3am.
The event, led by pioneering DJ and producer Greg Wilson, will explore the impact of this seminal underground movement through films, talks and music.
Greg will be hosting Q&As with key figures from the era, including Hewan Clarke, Colin Curtis, Chad Jackson and Mike Shaft, followed by the first ever public screening of Tim 'Bones' Forde's life-affirming film, 'The Birth of the British B-Boy', a 40-minute documentary about Manchester's legendary breakdance troupe Broken Glass Street Crew.
The event will climax with a club night from 10pm-3am, featuring some of the scene's most important DJs and dancers.
Daytime: Free admission from 4pm
Club night: Ticket only after 10pm
Tickets are on sale now from:

We're kind of nearly getting there at last....We've spent some time back in the studio this month going over the final mixes of tracks for the album 'Deletia'. It's all coming together really well now although we're up against it trying to meet our planned release date - but so it goes! :) Thought I'd upload something new from the album anyway and see what people think. This is a brand new track called 'Army Of Two'. It'll be the last song on the album.....and is quite short and gentle sounding compared to a lot of the stuff we've posted previously so thought it might make a nice change! The songs we've put down for the album itself are quite diverse, but hopefully this'll give some idea of the range of sounds we're going for anyway...Gavin did an excellent job producing this - thankfully he really knew what we were trying to achieve with the ending - which is always a good thing ;) Hope you like it anyway!
A quick reminder once again to all you London folks that we'll be at Storm in Leicester Square this Friday night. We've never played the venue before but it should be a blast anyway - come along if you can!

Today is the last day of term for many schools in the UK, so I thought I'd Google the word "Summer" and see what the best video it came up with was,,,, Not entirely appropriate, but The Cure with The Last Day of Summer is a good song...
So, what's happening then? Well the tour is underway and going rather smashingly well! We somehow managed to get our first national radio airplay on Tony Fentons show on Today FM last Friday and celebrated until the wee hours of 7.30am, rock 'n' roll, so will be in touch very soon asking you lovely lot to help us blag another play or two, although 'im not sure my liver or head could handle the celebrations afterwards!! Favourite gig so far has been at Sarsfields (Bagfull of Songs) in Drogheda and not just because we won a raffle prize of a collection of Cds (including a Metal Hammer Cd) which will keep us awake on our travels in 'The Flash' (pet name for the Renault clio) but mainly for the great crowd, great atmosphere and great music which was all organised by Tom, so a big thanks goes out to him and everyone else that joined in, including Mr Gary Stewart for jumping on the drums for an impromptu accompaniment!
On the 'Superman' side of things we are bringing the digital release date in Ireland forward a week to the 08.08.08! Oooh-er! Just because we seem to enjoy making life more difficult for ourselves on a regular basis these days and also because of it's apparent lucky and magical powers, well if it's lucky in China then that's good enough for me! So, all you Superhero wannabees out there (myself included) you'll have the chance to download the Ep a week earlier than previously planned. But even better than that, gig goers can get their supermitts on a CD at the following gigs...

Lastly but not leastly, a few podcasts worth a mention. The first being on East Leeds FM which features a recording of the new song 'Real To Me', see here www.elfm.co.uk/2008/05/odi/ and a new podcast called Road Crew Radio (www.roadcrewcomic.com) hosted by the designer of the villainess picture on myspace (www.myspace.com.odimusic). Also worth a mention is a recent article in the Arran Voice which can be read here...
Right that's enough of that for now,I’ll be asking ye to use your supermagical powers of persuasion to help us get some more radio play in the next few weeks so if you’ve got any hints or tips on who to pester then let us know!

My apologies for taking so long to do the next LTP...I have been carried away writing new songs recently, we have been busily trying to get more material ready for upcoming gigs. We have about 6 or seven new songs we're working on at the minute and its got a bit hectic!! My original plan was to do LTP weekly and I shall endeavor to keep to it from now on...
If you could be a fly on the wall at any point in time anywhere in the world what would you choose to spy on?
Look forward to your answers on this one - love Elly x
Trev has now posted his piece on Delia Derbyshire on the Hobo Vox site.
In 1969 Delia and Brian Hodgson at the BBC Radiophonic Workshop worked on John Peel's voice for a Top Gear compilation LP, this was the result...
We now have an online store selling music and clothing. There is some free content in the form of downloads which we will try to keep updated.
Using the Bizmo store means more styles and sizes will be available than we could provide if we handled manufacturing orders and distribution ourselves.
